Output by industry is a gross measure of the total sales of each industry sector in Toowoomba. It does not measure how productive each industry sector is at producing this output - which is measured by value added.

- Mining ($3,726 million or 13.8%)
- Manufacturing ($2,898 million or 10.7%)

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 14.1% in Construction; 15.5% in Mining and 10.6% in Manufacturing.
The major differences between output by industries of Toowoomba and Queensland were:
