Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the East Gippsland Shire in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($1,240 million or 33.5%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($412 million or 11.1%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($336 million or 9.1%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $1,987 million in total or 53.7% of the total imports by industry in the the East Gippsland Shire.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 33.0% in Manufacturing; 6.9% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 8.0% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between total imports by industries of the East Gippsland Shire and Victoria were:
