An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the City of Brisbane in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($31,709 million or 45.3%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($6,231 million or 8.9%)
  • Mining ($3,893 million or 5.6%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $41,832 million in total or 59.8% of the total imports by industry in the the City of Brisbane.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 33.6% in Manufacturing; 5.0% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and 9.4% in Mining.

The major differences between total imports by industries of the City of Brisbane and Queensland were:

  • A larger percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (45.3% compared to 33.6%)
