Dominant groups

An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in RDA BGLAP Region in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Construction ($1,179million or 27.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance ($456million or 10.8%)
  • Manufacturing ($357million or 8.4%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $1,992 million in total or 47.0% of the total local sales by total industry in the RDA BGLAP Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 26.3% in Construction; 8.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 5.8% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between local sales by industries of RDA BGLAP Region and South Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of local sales by Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (7.2% compared to 2.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of local sales by Mining (0.6% compared to 4.8%)
