Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in RDA BGLAP Region in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($1,442 million or 28.0%)
  • Public Administration and Safety ($506 million or 9.8%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($432 million or 8.4%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $2,381 million in total or 46.2% of the total imports by industry in the RDA BGLAP Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in South Australia accounted for 30.9% in Manufacturing; 7.8% in Public Administration and Safety and 8.1% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between total imports by industries of RDA BGLAP Region and South Australia were:

  • A smaller percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (28.0% compared to 30.9%)
  • A larger percentage of total imports by Health Care and Social Assistance (8.1% compared to 5.8%)
  • A larger percentage of total imports by Public Administration and Safety (9.8% compared to 7.8%)
