Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the Northern Beaches Council area in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing (2,778 million or 33.6%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,366 million or 16.5%)
- Wholesale Trade (1,092 million or 13.2%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 5,237 million in total or 63.4% of the total exports by industry in the the Northern Beaches Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 16.3% in Manufacturing; 9.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 4.9% in Wholesale Trade.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of the Northern Beaches Council area and New South Wales were:
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (33.6% compared to 16.3%)
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (1.3% compared to 11.9%)
