Output by industry is a gross measure of the total sales of each industry sector in Snowy Monaro Regional Council area. It does not measure how productive each industry sector is at producing this output - which is measured by value added.

An analysis of the output by industry sectors in Snowy Monaro Regional Council area in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($892 million or 22.8%)
- Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services ($620 million or 15.9%)
- Accommodation and Food Services ($408 million or 10.4%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $1,919 million in total or 49.1% of the total output by total industry in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council area.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in NSW accounted for 13.7% in Construction; 3.0% in Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services and 3.1% in Accommodation and Food Services.
