Dominant groups

An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in RDA Tropical North in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($7,399 million or 34.6%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($2,302 million or 10.8%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($2,045 million or 9.6%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $11,746 million in total or 54.9% of the total imports by industry in the RDA Tropical North.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 33.6% in Manufacturing; 7.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 7.8% in Financial and Insurance Services.

The major differences between total imports by industries of RDA Tropical North and Queensland were:
