Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the Shire of East Pilbara in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($1,000million or 31.0%)
- Mining ($874million or 27.1%)
- Manufacturing ($295million or 9.1%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $2,169 million in total or 67.2% of the total local sales by total industry in the the Shire of East Pilbara.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 31.2% in Construction; 6.3% in Mining and 5.7% in Manufacturing.
The major differences between local sales by industries of the Shire of East Pilbara and Western Australia were:
