Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the City of Canning in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($3,684 million or 34.6%)
- Professional, Scientific and Technical Services ($1,337 million or 12.6%)
- Mining ($1,184 million or 11.1%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $6,205 million in total or 58.3% of the total imports by industry in the the City of Canning.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 31.1% in Manufacturing; 8.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services and 13.2% in Mining.
The major differences between total imports by industries of the City of Canning and Western Australia were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (12.6% compared to 8.6%)
- A larger percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (34.6% compared to 31.1%)
