Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Mining ($8,340million or 23.5%)
- Construction ($7,158million or 20.2%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($2,492million or 7.0%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $17,990 million in total or 50.7% of the total local sales by total industry in the the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 5.2% in Mining; 22.1% in Construction and 8.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance.
