Dominant groups

An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (7,118 million or 40.7%)
  • Mining (3,421 million or 19.6%)
  • Manufacturing (2,288 million or 13.1%)

In combination these three industries accounted for 12,828 million in total or 73.4% of the total exports by industry in the the RDA Darling Downs and South West Region.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 7.1% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing; 35.4% in Mining and 15.5% in Manufacturing.
