An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the Inner West Council area in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:

  • Manufacturing ($3,483 million or 32.3%)
  • Financial and Insurance Services ($991 million or 9.2%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing ($757 million or 7.0%)

In combination these three industries accounted for $5,231 million in total or 48.4% of the total imports by industry in the the Inner West Council area.

In comparison, the same 3 industries in New South Wales accounted for 33.5% in Manufacturing; 8.0% in Financial and Insurance Services and 4.5% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.

The major differences between total imports by industries of the Inner West Council area and New South Wales were:
