Dominant groups
An analysis of the total exports by industry sectors in Gold Coast City in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing (4,671 million or 28.0%)
- Accommodation and Food Services (1,688 million or 10.1%)
- Education and Training (1,210 million or 7.3%)
In combination these three industries accounted for 7,569 million in total or 45.4% of the total exports by industry in the Gold Coast City.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Queensland accounted for 15.5% in Manufacturing; 2.3% in Accommodation and Food Services and 3.2% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the total exports by industries of Gold Coast City and Queensland were:
- A smaller percentage of total exports by Mining (6.2% compared to 35.4%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Manufacturing (28.0% compared to 15.5%)
- A larger percentage of total exports by Accommodation and Food Services (10.1% compared to 2.3%)
