Output by industry is a gross measure of the total sales of each industry sector in the City of Fremantle. It does not measure how productive each industry sector is at producing this output - which is measured by value added.

- Manufacturing ($1,312 million or 14.0%)
- Construction ($1,020 million or 10.9%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $4,253 million in total or 45.4% of the total output by total industry in the the City of Fremantle.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Western Australia accounted for 4.7% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; 9.8% in Manufacturing and 12.8% in Construction.
The major differences between output by industries of the City of Fremantle and Western Australia were:
