Dominant groups
An analysis of the local sales by industry sectors in the City of Whittlesea in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Construction ($4,774million or 28.7%)
- Health Care and Social Assistance ($1,968million or 11.8%)
- Manufacturing ($1,712million or 10.3%)

In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 24.2% in Construction; 7.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance and 7.4% in Manufacturing.
