Dominant groups
An analysis of the total imports by industry sectors in the City of Whitehorse in 2023/24 shows the three largest industries were:
- Manufacturing ($3,493 million or 41.5%)
- Transport, Postal and Warehousing ($844 million or 10.0%)
- Financial and Insurance Services ($776 million or 9.2%)
In combination these three industries accounted for $5,113 million in total or 60.8% of the total imports by industry in the the City of Whitehorse.
In comparison, the same 3 industries in Victoria accounted for 33.0% in Manufacturing; 6.3% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing and 8.0% in Financial and Insurance Services.
The major differences between total imports by industries of the City of Whitehorse and Victoria were:
- A larger percentage of total imports by Manufacturing (41.5% compared to 33.0%)
- A smaller percentage of total imports by Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2.9% compared to 6.9%)
